The snail mucus can be used for multiple cosmetic applications such as creams and gels with anti-aging effect, for the maintenance and improvement of skin elasticity, products for irritated and sensitive skin, as post-depilatory and aftershave (thanks to its capability to regenerate tissues); emulsions and gels for the care of children, since it prevents the onset of irritation even in areas in contact with diapers as an adjunct in the treatment of acne-prone skin (to speed up the repair of the epidermis and reduce the formation of acne marks thanks to its exfoliating and regenerating properties), as moisturizing and nourishing of the skin during the period of pregnancy; it can be used to improve discoloration and to reduce the visibility of scars. It is also used in some medical burn units for rehabilitation.
