Description
The SHIN-TENYO Rising Stem Metal Gate Valves are primarily used for stop valves fully opened or fully closed. They are not normally considered for throttling purposes, but more for slurries, viscous fluids, etc. Gate valves are characterized by a traveling solid wedge, which is moved with the operation of the stem nut. The wedge travels perpendicular to the direction of the flow. Gate valves usually have a minimum pressure drop when fully open, provide tight shut-off when fully closed, and remain relatively free of contamination buildup. Gate valves are of bidirectional design and are devised to on / off duties. The hand wheel closes the valve clockwise. These valves offer an excellent flow passage and low-pressure drop being an optimal choice for slow on / off duties, steam, gas, oil, fats and air.

c. On smaller size valves, the yoke is cast integral with bonnet. Larger size valves have two pieces yoke, refer to individual drawing.

e. Rising stem for visual position indication.
f. Stem nut is mounted with shaft sleeve to reduce operating torque for ease of manual operation in larger sizes and higher classes.
g. Self aligning two piece gland
h. Full bore, minimum pressure drop
