Product Description

What are PEBs (Pre-Engineered Buildings)?

Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEBs) are steel structures that have been optimized with every rule in the book (high strength steel, built up sections, tapered shapes) with the objective of giving the best value to the user. Pre- Engineered buildings as they are today represent the culmination of a century of Engineering optimizations to allow the covering of large areas at low cost.

With all the new research taking place,  steel structures have become more and more predictable, and international
codes have followed suit, in particular  the American codes. As a result,  manufacturers can offer today very  cost-efficient solutions.

No doubt hence that the pre-engineered building system has become one of the fastest growing building systems  worldwide. Pre-engineered buildings, when compared to conventional steel buildings, offer numerous advantages  especially with regards to low-rise buildings.

What are PEBs made of ?

A Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) consists of three distinct product categories:

Built-up "I" shaped primary structural framing members (columns and rafters)

Cold-formed "Z" and "C" shaped secondary structural members (roof purlins, eave struts and wall girts)

Roll formed profiled sheeting (roof and wall panels)

PEBs can also accommodate many functional and architectural accessories such as canopies, fascias, insulation, ventilation etc...

What are PEBs used for ?

Applications are extensive for pre- engineered buildings. In short, pre- engineered buildings are ideal for any non-residential low-rise building.

Typical applications of PEBs are any low-rise permanent structures, including factories, storage facilities, commercial facilities, educational facilities, staff accommodation facilities, aircraft hangars, poultry farms, storage bins, refugee camps...

Any low rise facility can easily and economically be accomplished with ZHG PEBs.

Why ZHG PEBs ?

Mainly because of ZHG's extensive experience in steel buildings. ZHG is in the market since ***2 & has performed all types of steel projects all over the MENA countries. . Furthermore, while ZHG is small
enough to listen to your concerns and give you individualized attention, it is big enough for the detailed study & fast execution of large projects (*0 Tons per day)

*- Quality
Design is in accordance to the latest codes. It is carried out by professional engineers specialized in steel buildings. Material's history & mill can be traced. Material undergoes a rigorous testing & approval process. Fabrication is as per ISO ***1 with a proven quality plan. ZHG steel structures are shop-welded for field bolting.

*- Cost
ZHG puts steel where steel needs to be put. Extensive use of tapered sections ensures that steel is placed where moments are largest, hence preventing the need for clients to pay for steel which they don't really need.
Tested high strength steel permits smaller sections hence more economy in manufacturing and erection. These economies are passed on to the user.

*- Schedule
For most standard structures, ZHG delivers within six weeks after approval plan's signature.

*- Service
Client deals with one party for design and fabrication. ZHG is also responsible for consultant approvals. Furthermore, at ZHG, client deals only with one CC, (Customer Consultant) from beginning to end, through contract signature, approval plan preparation, consultant discussions (if applicable), production and shipment follow up. This trained CC, "one stop shop" facilitates the clients' life. Once the offer is signed, client gets an approval plan where all that will be delivered is clearly shown, thus avoiding potential misunderstandings.

Basic Specifications

The basic parameters required to define a PEB are: building width, length, and height, roof slope, Interior bay length and Design Loads.

Design Loads:
Unless otherwise specified ZHG pre- engineered steel buildings are designed for the following minimum loads: Roof Live Load: 0.*7 kN/m2 Design Wind Speed: **0 km/h Design for snow loads, earth quake loads, collateral loads, crane loads or any other loading condition, must be specified. Loads are applied in accordance with the latest American codes and standards applicable to pre-engineered buildings

Eave Height:
The distance from the bottom of the column base plate to the top point of the eave strut. When columns are elevated from finished floor, eave height is the distance from finished floor level to top of eave strut.

Building Length/Width:
The length of the building is measured from out to out of end wall steel lines and the width of the building is measured from end to end of the side walls.

Roof Slope:
This is the angle of the roof with respect to the horizontal. The most common roof slopes are from five to ten percent. Any practical roof slope is possible.

Interior bay length:
The distance between the center lines of two adjacent interior main frame columns. The most common bay lengths are 6 m, 7.5 m and 9 m.

Secondary Frames

The purlins, girts and eave struts are secondary structural members. Purlins are used on the roofs, while Girts are used on the walls, and Eave struts are used at the intersection of the sidewall.

Their main function is to support the wall and roof panels. They consist of prepunched cold-formed Z or C sections usually, **0mm in depth and 1.5 to 2.5mm in thickness. They are bolted to rafters and columns.

Secondary members have two other functions:
*- Help in resisting part of the longitudinal loads that are applied on the building such as wind and earthquake loads.
*- Increase frame capacity by providing lateral bracing to the compression flanges of the main frame members.
