Polyester ( PET) Strapping is now widely accepted in certain applications where steel strapping was used. It not only has strength of steel strapping but also has elongation properties that steel strapping does not offer. The starps are used to secure Medium & Heavy loads. PET straps are often a better alternative than steel straps for the security of unit loads. The tensile strength of the PET strap is lower than with steel strap but their shock reserve is at least equivalent.This shock reserve is a combination of remaining strength plus remaining elastic elongation: Unlike steel strap, PET strap remains tensioned and retains its holding power after shock.
