On *7 September ***6 the Cedynia Copper Rolling Mill Division of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A in Orsk commissioned a new installation for the production of oxygen-free copper rod based on UPCAST® technology of the Finnish firm Outokumpu. Planned production capacity of the installation is *5 **0 tonnes annually.
This process is based on the upward casting of Cu-OFE rod and its winding into coils weighing up to 5 tonnes. Upcast technology enables the production of rod of various diameters (*********************4 mm) and of rod from low-alloy copper (with the addition of 0.1% Ag) used among others in trolleys.
