Mr. Vasant Phadtare after completing his graduation from Walchand college of Engineering, Sangli in Mechanical Engineering. The passion for this field drove him to start a business of his own in this field and he named his company Kavitsu which stands for Kalpana (wife), Vikrant (son) and Kaustubh (son), which was established in ***2. The company which started as, Kavitsu Techniques and it was a proprietary type. Later on in the year ***0 the company became, Kavitsu Transmissions Pvt Ltd.
In ***5 the company developed a new idea for a gear box and manufactured their first product as Planetary Speed Reducer. As time went by they came up with many new innovative ideas and now have a very large customer base all over India.

All the manufacturing plants are located in Satara, which is a small city situated in western part of Maharashtra, India. Kavitsu Transmissions has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility which mainly deals in Planetary Gear Boxes, Planetary Geared Motors, Planetary Winches Planetary Belt Conveyor Drives and Crystallizer Drives for sugar industry. Kavitsu Automation produces similar planetary gear boxes but on a smaller scale. Kavitsu Machine-o-electriks makes AC induction motors which are required as an for the gear boxes. Kavitsu Robotronix is associated with industrial robotics and its applications which include automatic production lines. Kavitsu is one of the few manufacturers in India to manufacture high quality slew ring bearings, the mastermind behind it being the company director Mr. Vasant Phadtare.
