The early deterioration of a floor is subject to wear and tear of a
more widespread problem in industrial flooring.
SIB is specialized in the manufacture of high performance
hardeners, which give a higher wear resistance, providing an
effective solution for locations subject to traffic and use of high
intensity.
The application of hardening in concrete floors is aimed at
increasing the resistance to abrasion, anti-dust and increased
resistance to chemical attack.
SIB is a leader in the domestic market in the production of
hardeners, and in recent years been observed to run million m2 of
industrial floor hardeners to using sibland.
The standard EN ****3 applies to CE marking mortar floor.
The tests required to apply to cementitious industrial floor
hardeners, are the rehearsals of the Compressive Strength, Flexural
Strength and Abrasion Resistance. In the abrasion test, the
standard allows it to be made by one of three methods: Wear
Resistance "BCA", "Rolling Wheeler" or "Bohme." The method "Bohme"
is the most common method internationally for carrying out the test
for resistance to abrasion.
According to test results, the hardeners are classified as
follows:
Compressive Strength: Letter "C" followed by the results recorded
in N/mm2. The hardeners are classified from Class C5 up to C*0, and
C5 to the class of least resistance and the C*0 class of higher
resistance.
Flexural Strength: Letter "F" followed by the results recorded in
N/mm2. The hardeners are classified from class F1 up to F*0, F1
being the class of least resistance class F*0 and the higher
resistance.
Abrasion Resistance "Bohme": Letter "A" followed by the result seen
in cm3/*0 cm2.
The hardeners are classified from Class A1 to the A*2, 5. Unlike
the above-referenced tests, to test the Bohme hardeners are
classified from class A*2 (with lower resistance to abrasion
possible) to the Class A1, 5 (with the greatest possible resistance
to abrasion).
For a monolithic floor with the addition of hardener in the
concrete surface, the tests most relevant and important
consideration in choosing the appropriate hardener are first
testing the abrasion resistance (measured as the ability to wear
resistance), followed by the flexural test and only a last resort
and not very relevant in this case, the compressive strength.
Tests of hardness and impact resistance are also relevant in the
classification of a surface hardener.
SIB has different hardeners depending on the desired
characteristics.
